About Charity
She/Her/Hers
Welcome, I am Charity Lewis, a Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California. I am a mother, educator, therapist, and creative at heart. These roles shaped who I am and presence I bring into the healing space.
I support adults who are navigating anxiety, relational patterns that no longer serve them, trauma, and moments when life feels heavy or unfamiliar. Many of my clients arrive feeling disconnected from themselves, unsure how to move forward, or longing for a deeper sense of meaning and belonging. If you find yourself here, I believe something wise in you is moving toward healing, even if you cannot yet name what that is.
I also work with people living with chronic and invisible illness. I understand how tender it is to inhabit a body that holds both resilience and limitation, and how painful it can feel when your struggles are unseen by others. Living in a body that no longer feels familiar is often very disorienting. Invisible illness deserves compassion, validation, and support. Together we will honor the physical reality of your experience while also tending to its emotional and existential impact, including grief, identity shifts, and the longing to feel at home in body again.
My approach is holistic and body centered, integrating Somatic Experiencing, attachment focused work, and mindfulness based practices. I trust in the body’s innate impulse toward balance and healing, and I trust that each person carries an inner wisdom that can guide their path forward when given support and space to emerge.
In our work together, therapy becomes not only a place to reduce symptoms, but a place to reconnect with your inner Self. You are invited to meet your emotions, sensations, and inner experience with curiosity. As you listen inward, anxiety may begin to soften, relationships may feel more grounded, and you may rediscover a sense of clarity or purpose that feels deeply your own.
I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to creating a space where your identities, stories, values, and inner experiences are welcome. My hope is that therapy becomes a sanctuary where you can arrive exactly as you are, reconnect with what is most essential within you, move toward a life that feels more aligned, and reconnect with your vitality.
If you are considering therapy, I offer a complimentary 15 minute consultation so we can sense whether working together feels like the right fit. Wherever you are on your path, you are welcome here.
