About Charity
She/Her/Hers
Welcome, I’m Charity Lewis, a Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California. In addition to my clinical work, I am a mother, educator, therapist, and creative at heart.
My approach to therapy is holistic and body-centered, integrating Somatic Experiencing, Attachment Theory, and mindfulness-based practices. I work primarily with adults, supporting them in navigating PTSD, C-PTSD, trauma recovery, life transitions, and other emotional challenges. My background includes experience in both inpatient and outpatient addiction recovery settings, as well as extensive training in trauma-focused modalities.
I believe therapy should unfold in a way that feels safe, collaborative, and responsive to your needs. As a somatic practitioner, I attend not only to thoughts and emotions, but also to the body’s innate responses and wisdom. This integrated approach allows for deeper healing and helps address the root of distress rather than only its symptoms.
I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to creating an inclusive, respectful environment where all aspects of who you are are welcomed. My hope is that in our work together, you feel supported, understood, and empowered to reconnect with your authentic self.
If you are considering therapy, I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation so we can explore whether working together feels like the right fit for you.
